In short: Your digital marketing strategy is the series of actions that are going to help you achieve your goal(s) using online marketing. The term ‘strategy’ might seem intimidating, but building an effective digital strategy doesn’t need to be difficult.
John Wanamaker, famous retailer and inventor of the price tag and the department store once said, “I know that 50 percent of my advertising is wasted. I just don’t know which 50 percent.” ‘Fortunately with tracking tools like “Web Analytics” and the Google AdWords conversion tracker, a quick glance will show you what is working and what isn’t. This allows you to save money by eliminating wasted advertising and further optimize your website to produce more for your budget.
Don’t just focus on making content that will go viral. Use social media as an additional vehicle for responding to customers’ questions, complaints and concerns. It shows that your business is engaged with its online audience and dedicated to delivering great customer service.
A great list of courses I must remark! Apart from Coursera, Inbound marketing Training from Hubspot, and CopyBlogger Marketing Email Course, others are new to me. I guess it would be wise to try out others. The sources of these courses are tried and tested websites. Being free or nearly free to participate in any of the program is simply amazing!
On the one hand, there are a lot of marketers still trying to utilize archaic SEO-stuffing strategies to get organic search results. These marketers tend to create or hire incredibly poor content that no one wants to read.
The list here includes free online marketing courses in a number of social media-related topics and disciplines. If you’d like to dig into one area in particular, here’s a quick table of contents so you can jump to the section that’s most important to you:
In any marketing team, the inevitable happens: there’s a million files and pieces of content between everyone on your team without one place to keep it all. Organization on any team — let alone a marketing team — is essential. That’s why it’s important to have a collaborative organization tool to keep you sane.
When we share a content to someone , we expect them to experience the content in the way we intended. Well, it’s just not possible with plain old text/link sharing as in that; when the person at the other end click the link it’s going to lead them directly to the content leaving your intended reason to share and your opinion about the particular content to pure chance to be received as it is.

2. Marketo: Probably the most powerful and useable marketing platform at the moment. We did a custom integration with Podio that provides extremely valuable insights on key user behavior, allows in-product messages, builds behavior-based nurturing flows and enables those of us in marketing to pull certain analyses without a MySQL wizard. If you’re in the B2B market, setting up email (nurturing) campaigns and landing pages without the need for developers makes turnaround time for campaigns really fast.
I’ve used Hootsuite for posting updates to social networks and reviewing what others are saying for nearly five years now after using Tweetdeck back in the day – Twitter killed that one off for general use. Hootsuite seems to be comfortably the most popular free tool for posting and reviewing social media updates, but many still don’t know it, it can be used as a personal social media management tool too. It enables you to quickly post to all the main social networks including Google+ company pages and review conversations and messages. I’ve trialled many paid tools, but none come close. The paid version is worthwhile IMO for adding campaign tracking and extra reports.
PS: I disliked how paid courses are set up in Coursera–I’m a bright person with excellent reading comprehension, but others in the class were scoring very low, yet giving positive reviews in the comments… and so a lot of people were failing the classes when they should be getting a B average. And people were scoring others really low and giving them ridiculous feedback that proved they didn’t understand the material themselves. No thanks on the ignorant masses making sure I don’t pass a class I’m paying for… good idea on paper, but between the complicated scoring set-up and the propensity for others to want to feel superior (even based on gender, ethnicity, etc.) it simply did not work well.
If you want to set yourself apart from the crowd and gain a competitive edge in your field you need a personal website (here’s how to create a website in less than an hour) and the knowledge of how to use social media to build an engaged online audience.
There’s no question that, in the modern landscape, a big part of your marketing strategy is digital. Consumers and businesses alike are almost always online — and you want to be able to reach them and observe their behavior where they spend the most time.

Hey Brian, was just about to chime in here with the same info—this course used to be free (including all Coursera courses) with an optional upgrade to the specialization, but there was a recent change. I also told my social media interns about the course and that it was free; they were the ones that alerted me that it no longer was. Looks like Northwestern University in particular no longer allows taking courses that are part of a specialization for free on Coursera. I think some of the other specialization courses are the same now—even if you try to take them individually and without a certificate, they are no longer free. Too bad, because yes, when I took the course a few months ago, it was free and GREAT!
