They are a little more expensive but the results they deliver are way beyond what Hootsuite & Sysomos can deliver.
Most people just consume and share other’s people content but when you start making your own content you can build your own media platform. This allows you to develop a distinctive personal brand around your areas of expertise and become a recognized thought leader in your field.
There is no single free tool that works well for this – please suggest alternatives. You can use reputation tools like Klout, Kred or Peerindex, but I find that the use of Twitter autofollow means that this often skews the results.
