When I first wrote this post I recommended the Google Keyword Tool, but now it’s been renamed to the Google Keyword Planner, but is still an indispensable tool alongside the Google Webmaster Tools integration now that The Growth of Not Provided keywords means we can’t use analytics reliably to find referring keywords. The Google Keyword Planner (tutorial) is still indispensable for this – I don’t think I have ever done a client training or consulting project where I haven’t used it! It’s harder to get to now it’s integrated into Google AdWords, but it’s still free if you don’t invest in AdWords.
Whether its keyword research, content optimization, or checking your current page rankings, every marketer needs a go-to tool for planning what content to create and how to optimize it for SEO. Google Analytics and SEMrush our great tools for planning which keywords to rank for, but how do you make sure the content you create actually meets your goal once it’s created?

The only thing we had complaints about in the past, was the price of the Four Seasons rooms for our out-of-town guests. This year we have set up a deal with a close by hotel that is going to provide us with a special DealerTalk rate.
As I was researching this post for 2015 I noticed a new ‘Tool on the Block’ for keyword analysis – check out KeywordTool.io. It’s like UberSuggest, but with better formatting – I often use this to show how local consumer behaviour differs, for example I was giving a training workshop to a Shredders manufacturer – quite a different term en France par example:
Basecamp allows you to manage all the moving parts of your projects. With options to create internal and client-facing folders, you can stay up-to-date on all of your tasks, share documents, and keep track of upcoming meetings with a shared calendar.
Great post! A solid addition the “email” section is Free List Check (https://freelistcheck.com/). It’s a health scan for your email lists that helps uncover deliverability threats before sending out an email campaign.

I found that google analytics doesn’t report all hits but it’s a great free tool. Followerwonk is great as well, I used it to integrate with buffer and find optimal posting times for twitter. Simply measured sounds promising and I will be sure to check it out!
I am sure you will have noticed what happens whenever a beautiful woman or a handsome man walks into a crowded room or a bar? People look at them. In fact, some people will actually walk over to them and offer them a drink or strike up a conversation with them. The reason we call these kind of physically striking people ‘attractive’ is that they literally attract the attention and also the interest of other people.
Your Brand Persona and Target Audience. When you eventually start creating content, you have to know who you’re talking to and tailor your brand voice to appeal to them uniquely. If you aren’t targeting the right audience (those people who will lean in to hear what you’re saying), you won’t find success. And, if you can’t find a way to stand out, you’ll blend into the hordes of other brands competing for attention in your industry.
Brands with the budget to engage more on social media channels will get the edge over competitors, in terms of building a community of fans. But those who do not have the budget for heavy social media campaigns will not be detrimentally affected, at least in terms of their Google search rankings.

For a company to live and perhaps enlarge in this digital age, there’s an additional weight to accomplish more with a smaller funds. For example, without paying anyone for advertisements, thousands of people find Jim’s Marketing Blog every week, at the exact point when they’re looking for marketing tips or marketing help.
