Thanks Megan for sharing these wonderful resource. I have been in this digital marketing space for quite long. Thanks Larry for wonderful platform.I do agree with you about there is no specific course on online marketing. No wonder we live in a world where there is no specific course to teach this skill. I think the industry body should come with something for all. But seeing exponential growth of this industry. Since, we are moving to mobile world, the next step would be taking the online marketing to the mobile platform. That search will be narrowed.I am fascinated about the word “search””. Because, the entire online marketing is about “searching”” for things.ThanksAjish
When all is said and done, however, no one technique can carry most businesses, especially ones that got their start offline before building an online presence. Instead, you need clear goals, a step-by-step plan, and repeatable methods working together.

The same mobile-marketing best practices used on your website should be applied to your email campaigns as well. If you run a weekly or monthly newsletter, test your template using tools like Litmus to ensure it renders correctly across different mobile devices, email clients and operating systems.
They describe it as “the place for email designers and marketers to learn, grow and educate each other about everything email.” Brands’ online communities are often rabbit holes of unanswered questions and less-than-helpful meanderings, but Litmus is different.

See what the world is searching for and how interest in concepts has changed over time with Google Trends. For example, I feel like I’m suddenly hearing about “growth hacker” and “growth hacking.” Are you, too? I input those terms into Google Trends and it looks like there is a sudden new interest in the concept.

Hey Brian, was just about to chime in here with the same info—this course used to be free (including all Coursera courses) with an optional upgrade to the specialization, but there was a recent change. I also told my social media interns about the course and that it was free; they were the ones that alerted me that it no longer was. Looks like Northwestern University in particular no longer allows taking courses that are part of a specialization for free on Coursera. I think some of the other specialization courses are the same now—even if you try to take them individually and without a certificate, they are no longer free. Too bad, because yes, when I took the course a few months ago, it was free and GREAT!

The focus of this course is using available social media platforms to monitor conversations online, engage online communities, identify influences and establish your thought leadership on the web.
What it gives you is the opportunity to learn where your competitors get traffic, where they rank for specific keywords in Google Search, how many backlinks and who exactly links to their website and much more.

No matter whether you cater to B2B or B2C, one thing is a fact: Your prospects go online when they have problems to solve. Don’t be afraid to help them solve those problems … in fact, get in the habit of providing significant value to prospects before making a cent. This builds the trust you need to position your business for later sales, especially if you have tough competition.
